New Weekly Post - Style Jenna K

I am going to start a series called "Style Jenna K for..." on my blog. I would love for this to be a weekly event, but we will see how it goes. My goal for this series is to show some of the pieces from the Jenna K Boutique and ideas how to wear them. I feel that it can be difficult to visualize how a garment will look on someone based on a mannequin photo. Please bear with me as I do not usually enjoy being photographed and my photographer is 7 (which is why the top of my head is missing from this photo).

I call this photo, Style Jenna K for a day of shopping.
Shirt: American Rag, Macy's
Leggings: White House Black Market
Sweater: Jenna K Boutique

New Arrivals

I am completely in love with the sweater! It is very light weight and can transition into any season. The pictures really do not due this cardigan justice. The intricate detail is amazing. As you can see from the picture on the right, even the back has personality. The sash can be tied in the front, side or back.
Also available in a bone color. S/M/L $73 +tax

This shirt/tunic is from the same line as the sweater above. Again, the detail is amazing. This would look great with a pair of white jeans for the summer. The back is elastic (not a tie, thankfully) with a halter neck. S/M/L $61

Call or email me to set up an appointment. Also, I will be at Brentwood United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 24th for their Spring Market.

Spring Trends

I definitely do not consider myself a fashion expert, but in reviewing countless magazines and fashion websites I have complied a list of the Top 8 Spring Trends in Fashion.

1. Lots of Khaki - From safari to military style khaki is everywhere. Try this trend by adding a khaki safari or military style jacket to your spring wardrobe.

2. Denim, Denim and More Denim - I always thought it was a fashion no-no to wear more than one denim item at a time. However, fashion does contradict itself at times and this year it is all about mixing and matching denim.

3. More Refined Ruffles - Yes, ruffles are still going to be hot this summer, but they will be a little more refined and subtle.

4. Cutout Dresses - This trend comes in several variations from cutouts on the sides of slim-fitting dresses to interesting cutouts on the back.

5. Pastels - Always a popular trend for spring.

6. Wedges (shoes)- It seems that these are really going to be in this summer and the higher the better.

7. Large Statement Accessories - Even though these have been in for several seasons, now imagine adding "charms" to the bulky chains. 80's anyone?

8. Lingerie Inspired Pieces - While the spring runway shows took a more literal approach to "lingerie inspired" an easy way to incorporate this trend is by adding a touch of lace or sheer fabrics to your wardrobe.

Okay, I have to say that by posting this dress, I feel like I am really pushing for warm weather. I got this dress in last week and ever since, I find myself looking at it and longing for a warm sunny day. I can already envision putting a gray cardigan over it and wearing it in late March.
